Eamonn is our blue spotted Bengal boy and we are so incredibly excited about him. This little man is going to spearhead our blue breeding programme and we’re confident he’s the man for the job! He’s an absolutely brilliant little boy that loves nothing more than to cuddle up in our arms and buzz like there’s no tomorrow. I don’t think we have ever heard a louder purr!!! You can literally hear him from two rooms away!
Eamonn is such a striking visual contrast to our other Bengals, that whenever he
strolls into a room to greet a visitor there is always an audible gasp and he immediately
seizes the room’s attention. At first glimpse, he is a dark ashy grey colour with
large, well contrasted spots that are so dark you can only think of thunderclouds
just before a heavy downpour. When you look a bit closer, you see he’s got a deliciously
pale peach undertone along his spine that fades to the palest, softest cream that
make you just want to bury your fingers into his fur and make him purr all the louder.
His belly is a stark, brilliant white that virtually glows and is liberally peppered
with more dark thunderclouds. All of him is sprinkled heavily with a shimmery opalescent
glitter that catches the light as he moves. At the moment, Eamonn has bright bluish-
Blue Bengals are a result of the homozygous recessive dilute gene that changes the positioning of the black pigment in a Bengal’s hairs into segments along the hair shaft making the cat appear a slate grey colour. The dilute gene is believed to come from the domesticated cat that was initially crossed with the ALC (Asian Leopard Cat)to produce the first Bengals (although there is research being conducted now to look for cats in the wild that also carry the dilute gene), so can naturally occur in almost any Bengal bloodline at some point or another. We are very proud and extremely excited to say we are part of a growing number of worldwide breeders that are working to advance and promote blue Bengals. At the moment there are only a handful of blue breeders in the whole of the UK and to the best of our knowledge, we are the first breeders in Scotland that are specifically working to promote blue Bengals.
This is a very exciting time for the blue Bengal and we are passionately inviting anyone with an interest in these gorgeous cats to contact us to discuss them further!
We have also recently helped to form and organise the Blue Bengals Group. The Blue
Bengal Group is a like-
