Joscelin shows his best yet again!!!
We keep saying to ourselves that we shouldn’t expect too much from Joscelin at these shows so that we don’t come away disappointed if he doesn’t place well. In doing this, he continues to prove to us that we are selling him short!!! Yet again Joscelin amazed us and wow’ed the judges at the CatTICA show in Birmingham last weekend. He consistently places again and again, proving that he is such an excellent example of a Bengal cat!! He’s still waiting for that elusive final to become Grand Champion but we’re not worried about it at all.....
Saturday, 3 March
He did alright on the Saturday but...
Speciality Judge Pascal Remy of France placed Joscelin 2nd Best of Colour out of
10 other brown-
Sunday, 4 March
Sunday was really his day!!!
Speciality Judge Beth Hicks of USA placed Jos 5th Best of Colour
All Breed Judge Lynn Sherer of USA placed Joscelin 4th Best of Colour
All Breed Judge Edith Mary Smith placed him 3rd Best of Colour
All Breed Judge Francine Hicks of USA gave Jos 5th Best of Colour
And Speciality Judge Pascal Remy placed Joscelin 1st Best of Colour, 1st Best of Division and 3rd Best Bengal Cat!!

Our boy is a Champ!!!!!
Literally.... On his first appearance as an adult, Joscelin accumulated enough (more than enough, to be honest!!!!) points and finals to become Champion. He did so well that, in fact, he is only 80 points and one final away from being a Grand Champion and he did this the very first time he showed as an adult!!!! We are still flying high from the results.....
9 December-
Ring 3-
1st Best of Breed out of 24 Bengals and
finalled him as her 4th Best Cat out of 67 cats of all breeds!!!!!!!!!!!!
10 December-
Ring 4-
Ring 3-
1st Best of Division out of 16 brown spotted and marbled Bengals,
1st Best of Breed out of 24 Bengals and
finalled him as her 7th Best Cat out of 54 cats of all breeds!!!!
Adult Tabby Cat Congress-
To claim Champion status, Jos needed only 150 points from two judges and one final. At the end of the show Joscelin walked away with an astounding 420 points and 2 finals!!!! He is now chasing only 80 points and one final to become Grand Champion.... All of this after an 8 ½ hour drive to get down to the show. We could not possibly be more impressed with our boy!!!!
We can’t wait to see what he does next.....

Joscelin’s second show(and final kitten) appearance was at the Bengal Cat Club of Great Britain’s second TICA All Breed cat show in Rugby on 14 October 2006. It was yet another 8 or so hour drive south. We arrived at the show hotel at around 5 o’clock on the evening before the show and immediately dug in! We helped straighten out the show catalogues, had a quick dinner and went to the show hall until LATE to help set up for the big event. (What an incredibly looooooong day that was for everyone involved...)
As this show was held by “THE” Bengal club of the UK, we knew that all of the big Bengal breeders would be in attendance, and we weren’t disappointed! Every big name was there (some with 3 or 4 cats!) and the total Bengal kitten count was 34, a HUGE class. As this was Jos’ final appearance as a kitten, and considering the competition we were facing, we went only so that we (Jos, Jim and Nikki too!) could all get more experience. Jim clerked all day for Judge Vicky Shields (USA) in the All Breed and adult Bengal Congress ring, Nikki followed all of the competition in each ring and escorted Joscelin to each appearance. Jos posed, preened and played up as only he can (sometimes with attitude and sometimes just for fun). All to great (and hugely unpredicted!!!) results...
In Ring Two-
In Ring Three-
In Ring Four-
So all in all, a grand total of 210 points!!!! And a day well worth every single minute!!!
Jos’ next (and first Adult!!!) appearance is the SpoTICAt show in Leicester on 8 & 9 December, where Ysandre and our new queen, Melisande will also be showing. Fingers crossed!!!

Joscelin’s show debut appearance was at the CoonTICA Seaside FunFur’06 show held in Warton, July 2006. As Jos was only a week over the required age to be shown, we entered him into this show only to get him comfortable with travelling and showing from a very early age; we didn’t expect much in the way of placing, at all. He sure surprised us!
In Ring One, judged by Laura Cunningham from USA, he placed 5TH.
In Ring Two, judged by Franziska Gagern from Austria, Jos placed 3RD.
In Ring Three, judged by Pascal Remy of France, he placed 5TH.
And in Ring Four, judged by Genevieve Basquine, Joscelin placed 5TH again!
Considering the fact that he had an 8 hour drive to get to the show, that it was an incredibly hot day, and that this was his very first appearance, he handled himself so very well!!! After the formal judging was finished for the day, we asked Mr Remy his opinion of Jos and what he thought would’ve placed him higher. His reply was simple: “Nothing. He is a prime example of a Bengal. He meets all of the standards and has a charming personality. There were so many Bengal kittens here today, it was very difficult to place them in order!!”
